KC owners Kasey Attard and Sam Treffers ‘kindly curated’ some of our new products on a recent trip to Stradbroke Island, and we’re in love with the soft aesthetic, easily achieved with the right kind of light and positioning in your own home. Read on for inspo from one of our favourite local creative duos…
Tell us a little bit about your beautiful store, Kind Curations...
Kind Curations is truly a piece of our heart and soul. Everything in there is something we love and is a true reflection of our style. It was born out of mine and Sam’s creative brains when we realised we did all of our shopping online so clearly our little Southern Gold Coast community was missing something! The universe was definitely pushing us in that direction so we took the leap and opened Kind Curations in early 2018. It’s a store where you’ll find a little bit of everything; clothing, jewellery, homewares, ceramics, incense, art, pet goods and even surf wax.
When sourcing products for KC, what do you most look for?
We look for products that are unique, well-made, ethically produced and has a story. It all usually begins when we find something that we ourselves really want to wear or put in our home.
Is there a dream brand you’d love to have in the Kind family?
Bode. A men’s label but totally unisex, sustainable and just the coolest unique vintage style. Emily Bode is such an inspirational designer and really embodies the brand. Both Sam and I dream of having a Bode piece in our own wardrobes.
We’re obviously huge fans of Kind and love the support you give back - do you have a favourite MAYDE product?
The Valla Throw has definitely become a fave. The cotton linen blend is so beautiful and it’s such a versatile staple for the beach and home. But we will always have a soft spot for the Rainbow Towel. The very first Mayde piece we ever owned (bought many many years ago) and still used regularly to this day.
Music obviously plays a huge part in the shopping experience when anyone steps into KC - what’s your favourite playlist, we’d love to share it with our readers!
I’m so glad you’ve noticed! We love music and think it’s really important in setting the mood for an in-store experience. This is the playlist I’ve been building on since day 1. Some absolute gems in there. Enjoy.
